20 Things You Should Know About Motown's Down With Webster

20 Things You Should Know About Motown Artists Down With Webster

- The band formed for a junior high talent show (we won!).

- The first song we wrote was called “Live On Location”.

- We have worked and recorded with Timbaland.

- Gene Simmons from KISS wanted to sign us to his label (we were very flattered but already pretty far down the road with Universal Motown).

- If original Nintendo was an Olympic sport, Down With Webster would be on the podium.

- Kap was a child actor….he’s been in a number of movies he hopes no one will ever see.

- Pat is an incredible rapper (he was the original MC in the band).

-
Cam is a walking encyclopedia of hip hop lyrics.

- 3 of
Cam’s favorite albums of all time are “36 Chambers” by the Wu Tang Clan, “The Black Album” by Jay – Z and “The Slim Shady LP” by Eminem.

- Tyler and Marty played competitive hockey together growing up.

- Bucky is the resident chef when the band is on tour…he is magic on the grill.

-
Cam and Kap are both very good skateboarders.

- Down With Webster once played their semi formal as a Jazz trio….true story.

- Pat’s biggest influence as a guitar player was Roy Buchanan. Check him out.

- Marty’s biggest influence is Animal form The Muppet Show.

-
Tyler studied bass with Victor Wooten, and attended Berklee School of Music in Boson.

- Our favorite song to cover live is “Are You That Somebody?” by Aaliyah. It’s amazing.

- On the tour bus we like to fall asleep watching DVDs of “Planet Earth”. It’s fantastic -- you wake up knowing the names of 24 rare bird species.

- Before Down With Webster was a full time gig, some of our jobs included: a pet store clerk, mechanic, chef, ice cream scooper, painter, parking lot attendant, construction (trust us….we’re very happy to be in a band full time).

- We all have very different taste in girls...it works out better that way.

- Down With Webster’s “Frankenstein babe” would be comprised of elements of Beyonce, Megan Fox, Natalie Portman, and Scarlett Johansson.
